CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Popeyes chicken sandwich that took the fast-food world by storm last year is now available via DoorDash for free through Sunday, Jan. 19.
DoorDash customers who order $20 or more of Popeyes can use the code CHICKENWINNER and receive a free chicken-sandwich combo meal and $0 delivery fee.
The weeklong deal is limited to one per person. The combo includes a white-meat chicken filet on a toasted brioche bun with two barrel-cured pickles and choice of classic mayo or spicy Cajun spread, with side and small drink. (Here's the full rules.)
When the Miami-based chain launched the sandwiches last year, it drew lines at eateries across the country, became a viral sensation, and sold out immediately. A relaunch followed in October.
The company started near New Orleans in 1972. It is named after Popeye Doyle, the character played by Gene Hackman in "The French Connection."
