Easter is neither a federal nor state holiday. The next federal holiday is Memorial Day, on May 25.

Are restaurants open on Easter Sunday?

Some local restaurants may be offering takeout and delivery, but none in New Jersey will be offering dine-in services due to the coronavirus.

It is best to call ahead and check with your local restaurants.

What fast-food restaurants are open on Easter Sunday? Is McDonald’s open? Burger King? Starbucks?

Most McDonald’s locations will be open on Easter, according to MyRecipes.com. However, the fast-food chain is only offering drive-thru, takeout and delivery services due to the coronavirus. Make sure to check the store locator for local hours.

Same goes for Burger King. Check the store locator for hours.

Some Starbucks locations also will be open. It varies by location, so it’s best to call your local Starbucks and ask.

Panera Bread has many of its locations across the country open for business on Easter.

You can also try diner-style chains like Denny’s and IHOP.

Are malls open on Easter Sunday?

No, not in New Jersey. Although malls usually stay open on Easter Sunday, all New Jersey malls are closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus.

Are grocery stores open on Easter Sunday?

Select supermarkets will remain open or have reduced hours, and some will be closed to give workers a break to spend time with family. Shoppers should ultimately check with their local supermarket for specific information.

All non-essential stores in New Jersey are closed indefinitely due to coronavirus, however, some pharmacies will remain open on Easter:

Lowe’s announced that all of its stores and distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada will be closed on Easter.

Is the post office open on Easter Sunday?

No. United States Postal Service offices are usually closed every Sunday, regardless if it’s a holiday or not.

Is there mail delivery on Easter Sunday? Will the mail run?

There will be no regular mail delivered on Easter. Only Priority Mail Express and Amazon packages (Prime members only) are delivered on Sundays.

UPS will not be delivering (except for UPS Express Critical).

FedEx’s Home Delivery will have modified services, but all other delivery will be closed (except for FedEx Custom Critical).

Are banks open on Easter Sunday?

Select banks are closed every Sunday, which is when Easter falls. It’s best to call your local branch to check first before venturing out.

Are the stock markets open on Easter Sunday?

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq trading are closed on the weekends, regardless if it’s a holiday or not.

Both have also shifted to online-trading amid the coronavirus.

Are New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission locations open on Easter Sunday?

All Motor Vehicle Commission offices are closed indefinitely amid the coronavirus. Additionally, all New Jersey state offices and courts are closed and have shifted to video and phone conferencing options.

Online processing of some documents are also available on Motor Vehicle Commission’s website.

When is the next federal holiday?

Memorial Day is the next federal holiday of the year, on May 25.
