 
    Happy Birthday, Frida Frida Kahlo would be 113 on Monday. The Mexican activist and artist was born in 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico. A vocal leftist and supporter of the Mexican Revolution, Kahlo is most known for her self-portraits, as well as her fashion, deliberately mixing Western and indigenous styles. The Dalai Lama is dropping an album Yes, you read that right. The spiritual leader will release an album of teachings and mantras accompanied by music on Monday, also his 85th birthday. Called "Inner World," it will be available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music. One track, called "Compassion," has already been released. The US and Mexican Presidents meet Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is scheduled to meet Wednesday with US President Trump. Said to mark the beginning of the US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement that replaced NAFTA, the trip has been criticized by analysts in Mexico as a political accolade in favor of Trump. House members meet on worsening coronavirus numbers As the pandemic continues to worsen in the US, the House Homeland Security Committee is set to hold a hearing Wednesday to examine the national response. The US, unlike many other countries, hasn't contained the virus and recently saw a record number of new cases in a single day. Minneapolis moves closer to defunding police City Council members are expected Wednesday before the city's Charter Commission to discuss a proposed amendment to replace the police force. The department has faced scrutiny since George Floyd died in May after an officer pressed his knee on Floyd's neck for nearly eight minutes. Controversial Alaskan hunting law goes into effect The Trump administration published a new rule, going into effect Thursday, that allows hunters to use controversial techniques at national preserves in Alaska. The techniques include using artificial light to hunt black bears, even cubs, in their dens, and hunting swimming caribou from motorboats.
