MINNEAPOLIS – Vertical specialty sleep retailer Sleep Number Corp. has updated its SleepIQ technology on its 360 smart bed to include My Daytime Alertness to provide consumers access to real-time insights that help improve alertness during the day and learn how activities during the day can improve alertness and impact sleep at night.
Inspired by the Karolinska sleepiness scale, a measure of self-reported sleepiness and alertness, the new feature offers users information that pairs a sleeper’s personal sleep data with self-reported information and sleep science. Upon waking, the sleeper indicates how alert they feel using a sliding scale. From there, the response is paired with sleep data and facts to provide a personalized tip for how to attain better quality sleep. The feature comes on all of the company’s new Sleep Number 360 smart beds, and the company is offering an update for older models.
Through knowledge gleaned from more than nine billion hours of sleep data from more than 1.2 billion sleep sessions, Sleep Number’s SleepIQ technology is part of the company’s 360 smart bed and collects and analyzes data.
The update also features simplified navigation, making it easier to access other wellness features such as Circadian Rhythm Insights, Heart Rate Variability and Monthly HealthIQ Wellness Reports.

In addition to My Daytime Alertness, Sleep Number updated its 360 smart beds with more effortless adjustability and new sleep surfaces for better breathability and temperature control.

The new Sleep Number 360 Classic and Performance series smart beds offer the same smart features and comfort elements as the top-of-the-line Innovation series smart beds.
