The new Netflix original sitcom Pretty Smart premiered on Oct. 8, and it’s already one of the hands-down funniest shows on the streamer. After that season-ending cliffhanger, we’re wondering if and when Pretty Smart season 2 is coming to Netflix.
Young & Hungry and Hannah Montana comedy queen Emily Osment leads an excellent cast as Chelsea, an academic fish-out-of-water among her carefree sister, Claire, and her three equally free-spirited roommates Grant, Jayden and Solana.
Although Pretty Smart is a multi-cam sitcom through and through, with fun misadventures in each episode, there’s still a will-they-or-won’t-they relationship throughline that keeps fans on the hook in between all the hijinks and one-liners.

Pretty Smart season 2 release date predictions
Currently, Netflix has yet to announce the renewal or cancellation of Pretty Smart. Since the series only just premiered in October 2021, it will take at least one month for the streamer to check the viewership numbers and other factors before deciding whether to renew or cancel the sitcom.
However, should Netflix opt to bring back Pretty Smart for season 2, the next season of the comedy would more than likely debut in 2022. The series could return sooner than October 2022, perhaps sometime in the summer, though fall 2022 is the safest bet for a release date.

Since the cast had so much chemistry in the first season, it’s unlikely than any of the cast members or main characters would leave before season 2. Being so, we expect all five series regulars to come back in the second season.

Without giving away too many spoilers, the second season of Pretty Smart would likely pick up directly in the aftermath of the season 1 finale, which included an epic relationship cliffhanger. There’s a major choice to be made that will impact three of our main characters and the whole culture of the roommates’ living situation.
Of course, Pretty Smart will also continue to navigate each character’s path to coming into their own as a 20-something attempting to figure it all out. Between career, romance, friendship and family, there’s plenty of story left to be told in the funny and charming sitcom.
