After the overtime win in Charlotte, Marcus Smart touched on his early struggles and what’s been ailing the Celtics starting point guard through the first six games of the regular season.
Not saying he's Michael Jordan but they both have "Flu Games" ♂️

“This morning, I woke up and threw up and everything. My head was killing me so bad and my body just weak. My vision was a little blurry and just that my whole head was just really still spinning and stomach still upset,” Smart said after making several key plays to spark Boston’s most impressive win of the year.
Smart played 36 minutes against the Wizards on Wednesday, shooting 1 for 7 from the field and notching three assists, but is still dealing with the illness that has plagued him so far. He did not make the trip to the nation’s capital for today’s rematch and is out against the Wizards. When he does return, President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens expects Marcus Smart to bounce back after a slow start:
“One thing I think guys need to get back to when they’re struggling is, ‘what makes you the best version of yourself?’ ‘What plays are going to be shown at your banquet when you retire?’,” Stevens said, recalling Smart’s game-tying three in Madison Square Garden and the steal on LaMelo Ball that sent both games to overtime. “For him, it’s diving on the floor, offensive rebounds where he gets an and-1 against Embiid in the playoffs, not being afraid in a big moment to step in and take that shot and make that shot. All the things that people love about him.”
The stomach bug seems to be running through the roster. Robert Williams is questionable tonight in Washington and Aaron Nesmith was ruled as questionable yesterday with a non-COVID illness, too. Romeo Langford is questionable with a left calf strain that has held him out of the last three games.
