ANN ARBOR, MI -- Long lines are in the forecast.
Recreational marijuana sales in Michigan begin tomorrow, Sunday, Dec. 1, some time near 10 a.m.
Six businesses are licensed for retail sales. However, only four of those expect to begin selling recreational marijuana Sunday.
Those businesses are:
- Arbors Wellness, 321 E. Liberty St. in Ann Arbor, 734-929-2602, offering hot chocolate to anyone waiting in line outside
- Exclusive Brands at 3820 Varsity Dr. in Ann Arbor, 734-494-0772, hosting a party
- Greenstone Provisions, 228 Ashley St. in Ann Arbor, 734-773-3075, offering a free pre-rolled joint with purchase
- Michigan Supply and Provisions, 1096 E. Main in Morenci, 517-458-3002
Two others expect to open some time this week:
- Lit Provisioning Centers, 600 W. Seventh in Evart, 231-515-1600, expects to begin recreational sales Dec. 6
- Skymint, 1958 S. Industrial Hwy. in Ann Arbor, 734-627-7360, said a recreational sales date is forthcoming
Thirty-plus other locations have pending retail applications awaiting response from the state Marijuana Regulatory Agency.
Marijuana Regulatory Agency Director Andrew Brisbo said he expects a dozen to be licensed by the new year.

Based on possession and transport limits set by the law, customers may purchase up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana, including a maximum of 15 grams of marijuana concentrates.
The law also allows residents to keep up to 10 ounces of marijuana and grow up to 12 plants in their residence.
Products sold at most retailers include: flower, vaping products, oil, concentrates, edibles and more.
Due to a recent ban on existing vaping products that haven’t been tested for vitamin E acetate, an additive suspected of causing more than 50 deaths and nearly 2,290 lung illnesses nationwide this year, it’s unlikely vaping products will be available Dec. 1.
