Americans had the great honor of listening to our esteemed surgeon general interviewed on Sunday tell us that we should be in favor of vaccine mandates on the theory that this will end the pandemic. This recommendation is contrary to overwhelming evidence that vaccines have proved to be largely useless in controlling COVID spread. In the old days, noticing patterns because of numbers was called “science.” Now we have The Science™ instead. And U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Dr. Tony “Two Masks” Fauci, and Dr. Rachel “Imminent Doom” Wallensky are its master practitioners.
There may be some small consolation in knowing that the USA is not the only place whose official pandemic “experts” are prevaricating morons. Also vying for High Stupid honors, health authorities in Gibraltar (the most vaccinated place on earth) have announced that they are urging people not to hold social events or otherwise gather for at least the next four weeks in light of their current surge in COVID cases.
Not sure how they did it but according to Our World In Data in the chart above, 118% of the population of Gibraltar has been vaccinated. (Let’s hope Fauci does not see this graph or he will say that we cannot end the restrictions and mandates until we hit a vaccination rate of 178.6%.) In any case, it must be hard to find an unvaccinated person in Gibraltar.
We now know with absolute certainty that lockdowns did not flatten the curve anywhere, that mask mandates made very little or no difference, and that vaccines do not stop the spread. Additionally, none of the supposed “super spreader” events ever happened. And our “experts” have never come to grips with these facts and continue to lie to us about the likely outcomes of these NPIs and mass vaccinations.
COVID-19 spreads and recedes on its own terms and its own timetable. Enormous “seasonality” waves mysteriously appeared simultaneously across large regions and even more mysteriously receded long before “herd immunity” numbers were reached. But our “experts” still acted as if coughs and sneezes were the only vector and pretended that their recommended interventions had an effect despite an avalanche of data to the contrary–and contrary to pre-pandemic existing science. We have suffered horrific social, political, and economic damage because a lot of credentialed people refused to admit their ignorance and needed to glorify themselves by pretending to Do Something About It and further compounded that crime by urging their followers to declare dissenters and critics as enemies and thus they knowingly divided Americans.
Canceling Christmas on 100% vaccinated Gibraltar on the theory this would have any effect on COVID spread is peak stupid.
It is not enough for this malignant nonsense to end. There has to be a global reckoning.
