Texans rookie defensive tackle Ross Blacklock earned an ejection from his second NFL game for unnecessary roughness for shoving after the whistle, drawing the ire of veteran defensive end J.J. Watt.
Blacklock was thrown out during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 33-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium.
When asked about the ejection of the second-round draft pick from TCU, Watt didn't hold back his frustrations with the mistake.
"It's stupid," Watt said. "It's selfish. It was a stupid play. It was selfish. I've spoken to Ross before. It pisses me off.
"It's a very selfish move late in the game, and it's dumb. It's very dumb to hurt your team in that type of setting for no reason."
Under NFL rules, Blacklock was escorted off the field into the locker room with a team official. The Elkins graduate had one tackle Sunday before his day was over.
